Insurance
You should not be the one chasing an adjuster
We meet the adjuster at the property, negotiate the scope, and keep working the file through the rebuild. Here is how it actually runs.
The order it happens in
- 1
You call us first, not the carrier
Stopping the water and starting the drying is time sensitive. Opening a claim is not. Do the urgent one first.
- 2
We document from the first hour
Photos, moisture readings and the cause of loss, recorded before anything is removed. That record is what the claim gets built on.
- 3
We meet your adjuster on site
Mark walks the loss with them so the scope is agreed in person rather than argued over email.
- 4
We send the documentation package
Daily moisture logs, pre and post remediation air quality logs and independent lab results.
- 5
We negotiate until it is approved
And we send revisions through the reconstruction as things are opened up and the scope changes.
- 6
The carrier pays you, and we invoice you
Insurers now pay the homeowner directly, not the contractor. The scope agreed with the adjuster sets the payout, your deductible is your share, and we invoice as the work progresses.
Independent
We are not on a carrier's vendor list
Some restoration companies are program vendors for an insurer. That relationship comes with volume, and it comes with pressure to keep scopes inside the numbers the carrier prefers.
AquaShield is not on any of those lists. The person we answer to on your job is you.
About your deductible
Your deductible is set by your policy and it is what you pay. Any contractor who offers to make it disappear is describing insurance fraud, and in California that is a crime for both of you.
What we will do is be straight with you about scope and materials, and invoice as the work progresses rather than asking for it all up front.
Start the claim right
Call first, document from hour one.
